Post-disaster needs assessment guidelines : education

This report provides guidance on the process and components of a post-disaster needs assessment (PDNA) for the education sector. An education sector assessment should utilize participatory, people-centered approaches in creating a clear framework for recovery and reconstruction, and its links to long-term development. It should be conducted through a risk reduction and gender-sensitive lens, and will often inform the revision of flash appeals and donors´ conferences. These guidelines are meant to guide the education sector of the PDNA team in the preparation of a comprehensive assessment of the event and develop a full recovery strategy. This volume B guideline deals with social sector, education.
