More than 22.2 million people in Yemen need some kind of humanitarian assistance, of which 17.8 million are food insecure, and 8.4 million are severely food insecure. The World Bank’s Emergency Cash Transfers Project is providing income assistance to about 1.5 million families, enabling them to buy food and other basic necessities.
