This short country report, a result of larger Information for Development Program (infoDev) - supported survey of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education in Africa, provides a general overview of current activities and issues related to ICT use in education in the country. Following the model of the Singaporean experience, the Mauritian government has been visionary in its promotion of its country as a 'cyber island,' a hub for the southern African region with a diversified economy.

This report presents an analysis of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs and policies that affect young children in Mauritius and recommendations to move forward. This report is part of a series of reports prepared by the World Bank using the SABER-ECD framework 1 and includes analysis of early learning, health, nutrition and social and child protection policies and interventions in Mauritius, along with regional and international comparisons.
